Best Software Deals

Over the years I have found that the most affordable software and peripherals for my computer have come from eBay and Amazon. I even bought my first laptop through eBay. I have also accumulated many software titles at unbelievably low prices.

Sometimes, if you really want to save, you might want to get a past version instead of the most recent version of software.

Unless you're one of those people who just has to have the latest thing, you will surely be impressed with the money you save for the same item others are paying an arm and a leg for. I know I have been!

WordPerfect by Corel

WordPerfect is still my word processor of choice. I have tried others, but always come back to this one. If you hate word processing software, you might want to try WordPerfect.

Spelling

One of my favorite features is the spell checker which underlines errors as you type. Then you just go back and hover over the word and right click to view the possible word options. Just click on the properly spelled word in the right click menu and it will replace the misspelled word.

Other Features

You can easily convert other word processing documents to WordPerfect. You can also create PDF files, spreadsheets and presentations. There is also a grammar checker. Inserting headers and footers is super easy too. Another cool feature is the word count, especially if you're typing articles or research papers for students.

Typing your document

I recommend when starting a new document, that the first thing you do is name and save the document. The next thing to do is select your font, font-size and line spacing. Then click on the save icon again. Now you're ready to start typing. Save your file frequently by clicking on the save icon, just in case there's a power surge or something. You NEVER want to risk losing your work. I don't usually worry about the headers and footers until I've finished the document. But that's just a personal preference. I need to get to the business at hand quickly and worry about the details later.

This is an excellent program for students.
